Here’s the thing, I am not much of a gamer. I tend to play video games and end up not finishing it because of two things, lack of time and I don’t own a video game console. The last video game console was a Family Computer (or a NES in the US) and the last game I played on that console was Duck Hunt and Bomberman. But thanks to the wonders of the internet, I was able to find a way to play old video games (and some Game Boy games) back when I was in Elementary.
So how many video games did I finished? To be honest, I only finished a couple, namely Pokémon Silver, Pokémon Trading Card Game, Pokémon LeafGreen, Harvest Moon, Chrono Trigger and Mobile Suit Gundam Wing: Endless Waltz. I played a couple of Super Mario Bros., Final Fantasy and a couple of fighting games for the NES, SNES and the Game Boy Advance but never managed to finish it because of either three reasons: lack of time, sudden loss of interest resulting to file corruption/getting stuck in a quest or I started playing a different game and got hooked playing it. Speaking of which, that is what’s happening right now!
I started playing Earthbound but because of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, I stopped playing it. Ocarina of Time is way more fun to play than Earthbound! I seriously prefer good ol’ action/adventure puzzle solving games over RPGs from time to time. Currently, my progress with Ocarina of Time is quite good since the plot of the game is starting to progress quite nicely and I am planning to finish all 3 endings once I have the time to do so.
Outside of RPGs and action/adventure games, I love puzzle solving or word games. There is a reason why I love playing Tetris from time to time and try my best to beat my previous record of the number of lines that I destroyed and the levels that I am in. Oh, the Tetris game that I am talking about is for the NES. I just find the NES version more relaxing compared to the later versions of the game that I saw. I find the 8-bit music really relaxing.
Well I guess that’s all I have to say before this post will sound extremely nerdy or geeky for those who are reading this blog.
